Mandara View 4

Mandara was made for a wonderful commissioner Luvmyboy. She wanted a Mandarin merpony similar to Mandarin Beauty but with slightly more green detailing.

Her tail was made from Apoxie Sculpt. Each scale was handplaced over a foil and sculpey base. She has 9 removeable fins in all. Each one made with liquid sculpey over wire armature and were manipulated to look realistic.

She was painted in numerous coats of paint to achieve the affect of her body marking and tail design. Numerous hours were spent painting under a blacklight to make sure the paint looked awesome under the UV. Her eyes, tail and fins were sealed with high gloss sealer and her body was sealed with Matte sealer.

Her hair was hand dyed using turquoise, yellow and orange dye. She was then rehaired and given tiny braids to achieve the wavy look. Her hair is styled with pearl pins which were each coated in UV glitter to add to the glowing affect.

Not pictured: last minute I decided to add a little base for added balance which has glitter, sand and mermaid bubbles on it for a nice sandy oasis look.
